Made Anew was officially established in 2016 when Susan Lynch Scranton, Founder & Designer, saw a opportunity among wholesalers and retailers who need a committed, yet independent design and merchandising partner. With an unquenchable love of the home furnishings industry, Susan is uniquely experienced with all levels of design and supply chain. She is a creative and analytical thinker and has a gift for seeing beauty in what is and a vision for what could be.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
While earning a BFA in Interior Design at James Madison University, Susan aggressively explored materials and product design. She spent hours in the studio modeling spaces and products, shaping clay, weaving textures and dying materials.
Her professional career began in 2001 and was richly developed at Bassett Furniture Industries. With an insatiable desire to learn, good leaders and dynamic mentors, Susan quickly grew within the company. During this time, she further developed her skills in Store Planning, Design, Merchandising and Product Development, as well as establishing extensive industry connections.
In 2012, after nearly 9 years in the corporate world, Susan felt led to offer her passion, skill and experience to a non-profit, grass-roots program in India. There she worked with local artisans to design marketable products and develop a self-sustainable program. Drawing from corporate leadership experience, Susan worked with local leaders to raise up teachers and empower women to pursue their own passions and potential.
Through Made Anew, I am blessed to be able to truly labor in what I love: Design and Merchandising, while also supporting grass-roots efforts.
